Screw Chavez , why aren't we drilling for oil in Alaska?

If things got that bad, and this freak decides to halt the oil supply we buy from him, why in the nine hells cant we drill on our own backyard?


What is the logic for not doing this? Greenpeace? Historical land? What?Screw Chavez , why aren't we drilling for oil in Alaska?
It is amazing to me that the pipeline ever got built. It probably would be not be possible today with the environmentalists frenzy to stop any oil production. I would like to see more drilling in the gulf of mexico, there is a lot of it down there and a couple more refineries would help lower fuel costs as well.

Oil cannot be replenished . I will run out. So we better put our money into finding another way. That would have been our independence!!

We are smart enough to find alternatives. We are strong enough to adjust. We are not stupid and greedy enough to destroy yet another natural wilderness. For that matter why aren't we drilling off the Florida coast? Oh yeah, brother Jeb didn't want to hurt tourism; same reason as no windmills off Massachusetts, only different political family. But by all means screw over the low income indigenous peoples in a place no one usually sees.

talk to the special interest groups.washington is letting them dictate when and where to drill for oil.everything is geared up for the oil corporations to become richer and richer.you ask why we don;t drill for oil in Alaska the politicians either own stock in the oil companies or are being paid off to vote in favor of the big oil corporations.and who suffers because of this the consumers.it;s all about corporate greed nothing else.wake up america.
