When will Americans realize that every barrel of oil we drill is one less we buy from foreigners?

The Democrats will not allow us to drill anywhere there is oil which would end our dependence on imported oil until a reasonable alternative is available and on the market at a cost most Americans can afford....When will Americans realize that every barrel of oil we drill is one less we buy from foreigners?
';The Democrats will not allow us to drill anywhere there is oil which would end our dependence on imported oil';

Let's keep it real; there is no way that we can produce enough oil to completely stop importing it. I agree that we should do more drilling, including in the ANWR, but we're not going to drill our way to a viable energy future.

We need to invest heavily in solar, wind and nuclear energy to make it much more efficient and affordable. Electric cars powered from emission-free sources of electricity are in our future, and the sooner, the better.

The undue influence of money in politics is the main reason we don't have much more agressive policies to encourage alternative energy.

Who's the Rhodes Scholar who gave this a thumbs down? Please email me and tell me which part you disagree with.When will Americans realize that every barrel of oil we drill is one less we buy from foreigners?
We don't need the oil. We can cut our dependence on foreign oil far more with fuel efficient cars, solar and wind power, and other technology. MODERN technology, that is. In case you didn't get the memo, oil dates from the 19th century. This s 2008 and their are better methods available.
Well, actually, oil is a global commodity so energy independence does not mean cheap energy. Do they guys in Texas pumping oil sell it to American oil companies for 10 bucks a barrell since it's pumped in the U.S.? No they don't.

I encourage all drilling, but I must always point out that energy independence does not mean cheap energy.
I'm not sure if that would lower the price. There is still the same amount of demand and that is only a temporary solution to our addiction.
I agree, let's just do it and bring the price of oil, gas, etc. down. The environmentalists can't kid themselves, they use gas and oil too.
The liberals are determined to save the environment!!! Little do they realize how much rain forest is being razed to plant crops for biodiesels.
Ive known this for a while. Its the folks in Washington you have to keep telling.
In 5 to 10 years...
right on, dude
