Which candidate will pursue more oil exploration/drilling in the USA/offshore?

To the first answerer: Obviously the President doesn't do the drilling. That was a silly thing to say. However he/she will have a HUGE say on whether or not it will be allowed.

It's a guarantee that neither democrat will be in favor of off shore drilling or drilling in Anwar. They bow down to Environmentalist lobbies. McCain is our best shot but with the ';Maverick'; who knows.Which candidate will pursue more oil exploration/drilling in the USA/offshore?
More oil is not the problem.

The US does not have enough refineries. That is why we are importing already refined products at high dollar costs.

By the way the US only imports 12% of it's Oil Products from the Middle East.

Our largest imports come from Canada and Mexico which makes up about 35%.
I thought oil companies did the exploration and drilling -- must have missed something. When did the President become responsible for this?

OK -- All known U.S. reserves total 21 billion barrels. At our current 25 million barrrel a day rate of consumption, it would last 840 days. So we should tap it all and use it up?
Why is everyone so hung up on drilling? The best thing the candidates could do is explore alternative fuel sources so we can get off the oil.
Clinton voted to expand oil production in the Gulf of Mexico. Obama opposed the expansion.
Its not up to the president, free market should make that decision.
Looks like the goons are out of bed.

First, the US is importing OVER $395.5 billion in oil every month. It's the biggest problem we have and the biggest threat to the economy. The Iraq war pales in comparison. So does the mortgage crisis.

Second, the Democrats do not have a valid energy policy: Pelosi's Energy Policy: ';Energize America with energy independence.'; ';Achieve energy independence in 10 years by developing emerging technologies for clean and sustainable alternatives that will strengthen national security and protect the environment.'; Basically, they are betting our lives that some unknown as yet un-invented device or technology will come save the day.

People cry that oil is not renewable. OK, lets see the facts. Pull out your calculators and give us the solution. We must start building now. What is this alternative you are hanging on to so we can build it. If you don't know what it is, shut up.

Supply must be increased and we must stem the hemorrhage of money going out of the country for oil. Drilling, building synthetic fuel plants (which can take bio mass) and more refineries is a solution at least for now. At least it is a solution, other than that I only see people complaining about the problem.

Sadly, the Democrats seem to have absolutely no solutions or ideas how to handle the problem. They don't have a policy for the single most serious problem this country faces. A sophomore engineering student can solve it will a little data

I'm independent, by the way..
