Because too many of us are all bent out of shape about this drilling for oil thing. There is no oil shortage, no crisis.


The biggest problem is listening to Hannity (the Great American ?? ) too much.


If there was a shortage of oil, everybody would be drilling everywhere. OPEC would increase their production to stop the shortage. If there was a shortage of cars, wouldn't GM or Ford increase their production to meet demand? I suppose the oil producers would do the same.


We all just need to cut back a little, quit acting like the world owes us cheap gasoline and quit believing everything that that (great American) Hannity spews and stop letting Beck make all of us paranoid!China, Canada and Cuba are currently drilling for oil 60 miles off of our coast of Florida, but we can't. i have no idea what the canadians are doing, but the cubans can drill for oil off their own coast and that's none of our business. and the chinese are not drilling there. this is an oil industry talking point that an awful lot of people are accepting as the truth with absolutely no evidence to back it up.
Because your Uncle Sylvester told you not to tell anyone that time he touched you ';down there'; or else your parents won't love you anymore and the US won't be allowed to drill for oil off the coast of Florida. That's why.
Do YOU think that drilling for more oil on U.S. territory will actually bring down gas prices??





If anything, oil companies will jack it up in order to support building new refineries.

Because oil companies like their profit to stay right where it is, while the naive scapegoat environmentalists for the record profits they are making.
Congress will not authorize new drilling on land under federal administration.
