For those that complain about drilling for oil in Alaska and complain about getting oil from the middle east..

What do you want to do? How do suggest we get our oil?For those that complain about drilling for oil in Alaska and complain about getting oil from the middle east..
Well, Yes i agree with the rest about reducing our dependency on crude oil, and start finding some clean technology to produce energy, the solution lies in various methods.

a) developed countries should promote industries or companies with incentives to switch over to solar energy or wind power.

b) countries must make optimum use of tidal energy( energy created through tides at seashores) to produce energy in a industrial level.

c)hydro electric although is second most exploited source, the full potential is not fully tapped yet, countries around the world should utilise it to the optimum level.

d) Developed countries as well as developing countries must set aside a certain percentage of thier budget to set up clean energy such as setting up wind mills,to generate power

e) Nuclear energy is still a disputed energy as it involves potential risk of exposure to radiation, and its high cost o f operations,Yet the energy produced outweight all odds, it

produces enormous energy with little fuel.

f) Countries should fast track the process of finding an efficient alternative to Petrol(gasoline) or Diesel as Automobile fuel, right now the research is on hydrogen fuel cells , which seems promising, Yet the research lacks impetus from most of the developed nations.

e) Countries (developed%26amp; developing) should start untilizing the Bio-deisel extraction process in massive scale,( that is extraction of Ethenol which can be got extracted from certain plants and certain seeds). The use of Ethenol will ease the stress on crude oil.For those that complain about drilling for oil in Alaska and complain about getting oil from the middle east..
We can all agree we need to decrease our dependency on foreign oil, we've said it for centuries. Question is what can we do now? What can we do besides criticize each other?
Not a question of getting oil, but reducing our dependency for it
Reduce dependence on oil. Impose a tax on gasoline purchases that will fund research and development for hydrogen power.

It's not rocket science.
i dont think that we should be drilling in alaska i think we should save our own resources for when we really need it.
I agree with aaroncoal. Or maybe we can hook his fat head up to a wind powered generator.
we need to reduce our dependence on oil, and look toward finding clean, renewable energy sources - wind, solar, hydroelectric, etc.
Oklahoma, Texas, Scotland... We already do drill in Alaska on the northern slope. We shouldn't drill in pristine wildlife areas. Try researching it.
What we need to to is to stop being slaves to the oil companies and need new companies to develope cheaper cleaner and renewable forms of energy. The question isn't where do we start getting our oil from but what can we do to lessen our dependence on oil.
There was a man from Arkansas who developed a gasoline powered engine that swung the pistons from side to side rather than pushed them up and down. It was functional in a 4x4 pickup truck as well as a 2 door coupe. The vehicles he tested it in were capable of the same 0-60 as their counterparts with original engines, and could reach the same top speeds. This engine garnered 46 miles the gallon in the pickup and 70 miles to the gallon in the coupe. An oil company purchased the patent to the engine for several million dollars and the agreement that the inventor and his family could still own copies of the engine, the company then destroyed the original engine and all paperwork and designs for it and still holds the patent to this day. Consider that.
I say we squeeze out the grease from Ted Kennedy's hair...that my hold us for a few decades.
great article in february issue of Discover Magazine about amory Lovins. look him up great guy with some amzing ideas. here's one of his ideas about oil.

reduce the weight of cars. why?

less than one percent of the fuel you use actually moves the driver. only 1/8 of the fuel moves the wheels...the rest is lost along the way. of that 1/8 half of that is heating the tires on the road and the air the car is moving aside. and the rest that actually moves the car...about 95% of that is the mass of the car, about 5% is the actual human being sitting in it. so about 1% moves the driver.

look him up
