It would if offshore drilling was actually able to increase the supply.

In most of the areas proposed offshore drilling would actually cost more than it makes.





Chevron Jack 2 which the drill freaks love mentioning is extremely deep. It is so deep the technology to extract it does not even exist yet.

Sure. The point is that we have to stop using oil at some point.





And, conservation always gives you savings.





Producing a little more oil doesn't change the world quantity, hence won't effect the world price.





The idea is simply not to reduce our dependence on Middle East oil. Oil is a commodity which is based on world market. If we bought our oil from Nigeria, let's say, then the people buying from Nigeria would have to go the Middle East and it would make no difference.
and if we use only 'obama air' (hot air) to inflate our tires, that will take heat out of the air-which will help with global warming! the extra heat in the tires will help keep the tires pliant, thereby increasing safety...and when winter comes, the warm tires will melt the snow and ice, eliminating the need for fuel-wasting snowplows!

We are drilling for oil. There is no ban on doing so either on shore or off shore. Merely a moratorium on issuing new leases. That moratorium was passed by congress every year since 1981 - including from 1995 to 2006 when Republicans were in the majority.
Maybe we should all roll our windows up and shut off our air conditioners and save even more gas.
