Oil companies say they can search for oil without causing environmental damage. Let them prove it. If they say they found enough reserves to bring down the price by 15 or 20 cents (which probably won't happen) then hold the oil giants to it. There is little doubt that a larger supply will lower the price. that's basic economics 101. That is also why we keep asking the Saudis to raise production. During WW 2, the oil companies opened new oil wells in 4 to 6 weeks.


Using new and modern methods, wells could be opened just as quickly.
