Our oil is not nationalized.The oil we produce now we don't use we sell. Drilling for more oil really will not help until we put an end to the sale of what we already produce.
Their argument is under the lie about caring for the enviorment. It is all about money on both parties. If they really cared about our dependency on foreign oil, this would be a no brainier, but, another democratic fight is really about anything against George Bush. He wants to drill for more oil in our country ever since he has been in office and they still cannot get it through congress. So then we import more oil and they complain about him fighting in Iraq over oil. The Democrats will fight for the opposite of everything George Bush wants because it is all about the elections and destroying our President because he beat them twice and they have not gotten over it yet.
Strategic oil reserve and conservation of the environment. Those are your hints.
Governor Jeb Bush kept the President from drilling off the Coast of Florida so its not just Democrats.
I know you will probably not believe this but do some google research, what you will find are leaders of several environmental groups are on record stating that even if their efforts fail it will at least be the downfall of capitalism

Yep blame it all on the democrat!! Try both parties, because they are bought and paid for by lobbyist and big business!!! They don't want us drilling here any more then they wanted us having ';European cars'; IN Europe they get 45 miles to the gallon. 5 dollars a gallon when one gets 45 miles to the gallon isn't so bad!!!
It's not Democrats. It's called strategy. If this is a political question, it is more likely that Republicans would have more to gain from the high price of oil.
