I thought Obama was against drilling for oil?

He said it would only reduce gasoline by pennies and so that was a bad idea.





Now he is open to drilling? How did that happen in only a few days?





He said, too that he would bring home the troops in 16 months.....now he is saying that HE was saying all along he would bring home the troops in 16 months based on conditions on the ground.....how did that happen? He never ';said that all along'; Isn't he just another liar?





And with him playing the race card....how can he be trusted?I thought Obama was against drilling for oil?
Obama was agaisnt off-shore drilling two weeks ago. Last week he REFINED his position to consider off-shore drilling... but don't worry. Obama will REFINE his position again in another week and he will be against it again.

He actually said that he would be open to LIMITED off-shore drilling IF it would help pass a comprehensive energy bill.





This is called ';compromise'; and is to be admired.





As to the troops, he has always said that his goal is to bring them home in 16 months, but the actual time-table would be dependant upon the situation on the ground. His reasoning is that he will not endanger the lives of our troops just to fulfill a time table.





This is called ';responsible leadership.';





And I'd love to see what you consider ';playing the race card'; since Obama just defended McCain against that same accusation.





So, since your question distorts 2 factual statements and then makes a sweeping statement of fact without anything to back it up, I'd have to offer the opinion, based upon reasoned analysis, that Obama is not the one with trust issues in this question; the question which is raised is how can you trust the source of your ';information'; when it is so easily rebutted and shown to be false?
