there you go. as oil would be sold on world market it is now obviously clear opec will do whatever they can to manipulate the price to their likings. seriously if oil is drilled in the US opec will just continue to slash their production so prices will go nowhere.

Absolutely!! Also don't forget that it takes, on average, several years from the time we issue drilling permits to the time oil comes to market. The most effective thing we can do now is conserve. The most effective thing we can do for the future is switch to alternative energy sources. Don't you wish that, eight years ago, the Bush adminstration had had a modicum of interest in supporting alternative energy?
but who is going to line the CEO's pockets with greenbacks if we dont drill more?
