When will we drill for oil in Anwar and end dependancy on OPEC?

Anwar promises 2x what we import from the ME and there is more in our own Gulf of MexicoWhen will we drill for oil in Anwar and end dependancy on OPEC?
I think your estimates of the amount of oil in ANWAR are on the high side. Drilling in ANWAR isn't the answer for ending the United States dependency on oil. The answer lies in coal derivatives and bio-fuels. I think the corn-based ethanol is the wrong way to go as there are other crops that have a better yield than corn. The technology we have available can put the U. S. on a path to energy independence, but so long as the oil companies are writing the energy policy for the government, it won't happen. When will we drill for oil in Anwar and end dependancy on OPEC?
When most of the foreign oil fields are depleted. Why drill before we have to?
The last time I checked the civil agreement between foreign civilizations among eachother stated that the literacy of the establishment shall govern the results of any outcomes.
ANWR - Arctic National Wildlife Reserve - has been carefully and thoroughly evaluated by the best in the business. Not only would it take most of a decade for the oil therefrom to enter the pipeline to our refineries, there is not enough oil there to make a significant impact on today's market, much less where that market will be in ten years.

I've spent considerable time in Alaska. It is a very, very expensive proposition to go after ANWR oil - far more than it cost to run that pipeline from the North Slopes. By the time the gasoline produced from ANWR oil hit your local filling station, it would cost twelve dollars a gallon just for the oil companies to recoup their investment in getting at that oil in the first place.

A much better use for that money is continued development of alternative energy sources.
It will not end our dependency on OPEC. We must drive more fuel efficient vehicles. We must give up the SUVs. We must avoid unnecessary driving. We must make our homes more energy efficient for us to become less dependent on OPEC.
We will as soon as the OPEC countries are fighting with each other and burning their Oil wells. When this happens most of the rich Arabs will be out of their own countries, somewhere else enjoying with the female species (not their own kind ofcourse).
President Bush has tried to drill in Anwar,Texas,Colorado, off the coast of Florida, and in New Mexico.

the democrats in congress would not let him.

the blame is squarely on the shoulders of the democrats for high gas prices.
Only after gas gets so high Liberals cannot buy it with their welfare checks and your profile is cool.!~!
Even if we start drilling there soon we don't have the resources to process the oil because the liberals won't let us build anymore refineries. It would take at LEAST a decade to see any difference and that is if we start NOW. There will probably be some snakes or flowers in the way of the pipelines and because of the nutcase enviroMENTALists**, we will have to stop and go 100 miles around them.

**these same people who brought you PLASTIC bags that are ruining landfills and not decomposing (as opposed to PAPER bags (a renewable resource)
2012

All of the presidential candidates right now are against it.
It will only hold off the inevitable.
When the environmentalist wacko`s give permission to the Democrats
Only when we get a Republican and president again....Democrats need something to use as a issue even if it means higher gas at the pumps.......Vote them all out
