If drilling more oil is not the answer. Tell me wich of the following alternative should we use?

Some one tell me witch Alternative energy sorce we should use! The dems Go on and on

about useing alternatives but then Try to stop these also! So what are we to do? Can someone explain this to me?

Windmills:

Wind mills take Acers and Acers of land to prdouce the same as one Oil Well wich is more environmently freindly? And witch will be more harmful to animal speicies in the areas?

The only power capable of relieving the base load (that is constant and reliable energy that you could build an entire grid off of) is Nuclear.

Wind has a bad habit on not being there when or where you need it. It is only suitable to compliment the base load.

Even at 100% efficiency, Solar will never be able to produce enough power per square ft. There simply isn't enough power in sunlight. If drilling more oil is not the answer. Tell me wich of the following alternative should we use?
My guess is that he will push for all three to be used and for others to be developed. I don't think that any one source is enough to take the place of oil. BTW, oil has drawbacks, too, nothing is perfect.

And the proper word is which. not witch.
The only answer is oil shale,,, there's plenty of it not only in Canada but in Colorado all the way to Canada..people are getting filthy rich off of in right now but we'll not see the results cause its called ';screw the people and get rich fast'..
First we need actual leadership instead of the River of Lies which is the republican party. We need to actually discuss this stuff - not just push something which will make the next guy rich (like making alcohol out of our corn supply).

Do Not Vote Republican. Ever.
How about the alternative of using less oil?

If you make $80,000 a year and spend $200,000, is the solution to take on a bunch of extra jobs to make up the difference, or do you cut spending?
Nothing. The only thing Obama wants is complete government control on EVERYTHING and eradication of the constitution and the bill of rights.
First, learn how to spell ';which.';

Second, you left out the best alternative: Conservation.
Obamas flying carpet will solve all the problems
mass suicides..the leftist that want to save mother earth from global warming should kill them selfs to save the planet..this would end thier carbon foot print..and saving mother earth..
Nuclear.
Nothing. Humans should phase out of existence on earth according to Libs' plans and hopes.
The problem we face mainly is not a electrical problem, so nuclear or windmills or whatever creates electricity is not the highest priority. Our main problems is oil and 90 percent of that is used on transportation, cars, buses, trucks, you solve that problem and things will get better. Electric cars look like a good alternative and no less than 30 electric vehicles are coming to the market with Mitsubishi announceing one for next year and the rest to follow by 2 years, really the only thing you can do right now is find a gas saver to run around in and park your big truck for now. Now if we could get the government to dump a lot from the strategic petroleum reserve and force prices down, that could help. Once the electric cars arrive it will be a different story, plus Dodge is working on a hybrid/electric drive truck with GE train drive technology that is suppose to get 100 mile per gallon, Its time to get off oil.
Do not confuse Democrats with those hippies. Life requires difficult choices. If you want to use less oil (and it seems we will have no choice), then you must use something else. Solar farms absolutely should be built in the southwest, immediately. Wind and wave farms as well.

Now, we MUST also conserve energy. This means driving less, properly insulating our homes, and using water more sensibly. If you're complaining about high gas prices, but you believe you should be able to drive as much as you want, then you're just as dumb as the hippies demanding we use less oil but protesting against every alternative energy source.
Well your fellow Republicans and my moderate/libertarian self would agree on nuclear but unfortunately I don't think President pre-select Obama will go for it.

Well it looks like we can't have find something for either of the parties to settle on but here's a solution you never hear: how about letting the markets decide for us! Wether we drill in ANWR or not, prices over the next decade our just going to go up anyways, so why not let them rise to the point where alternative energies actually cost less?

At first we are just going to have to learn how to be more fuel efficient, a very economically/environmentally/national securityish friendly way of solving the problem. Well most Americans are just too stupid to do this.

So besides conservation, we're just going to have to let the markets force us into natural gas, clean coal, or nuclear. People have political reservations now but once they realize energy costs will always remain high, they'll get moving.
@ Ihatelibs, LOL. And Bush hasn't eradicated the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?

Get freaking real

Obama is certainly not perfect, in fact far from it,but at least he's better than Bush

To answer this question,I agree with whoever said all the alternatives should be used as well as Conservation. We're going to have to gradually move away from oil and it's going to take a lot of sacrifice, but it will certainly be worth it in the long run. The more we put it off, the longer and harder it will be for us to fix it
I have no idea what Obama will push for if he's elected because he has never really said.

The prudent move is to not omit any avenue at this point in time and actively pursue not only all of the above but fund research in an attempt to find a solution better than any of them.

If we remain captive to the plethora of hand wringing bed wetters bent on our destruction, we will soon fail as a country. It is time to properly set our priorities and get to work. We can overcome this fuel crisis but not by sitting on our hands and whining about every possible vaguery out there.
Judging by the anecdotal stories you take, I would think there is no point about educating Americans on energy technologies and energy economics (topics on which you once were world leaders)... please prove me I am wrong.

Due to such childish attitude and extreme partisanship your country has no comprehensive and logical energy policy.

When you will be ready to have a serious discussion, contact me.
Excellent question. I think we need to continue to develop alternatives but until we have some solid alternative we need to drill and refine more.

As usual the Dem's are making this a political issue instead of dealing with the economic and national security issues. The Democratically run Congress has had their approval rating drop to 9% primarily because they are not stepping up and helping or leading. They are only concerned about getting reelected.

Time to open the doors to congress, tip up the building and flush these full time polititions out and get some folks in there that can get something done.
