Question Details: Why can't I find the name of a single oil company in America. Just how much are they charging? I say the same as OPEC, always have, always will. So why bother letting them drill here, so they can make more money than what is being made on imported oil?

Agreed oil is speculated so no matter how much oil is found the price is set. I live in Alberta Canada near the oil sands and I can tell you we have all the American oil companies up here. And trust me they have no interest to find alternative fuel!! in fact they buy our local government to look the other way on environmental disasters and to crush any talk about green energy. In fact they are pushing through a nuclear power station here just for the refineries!! So far all the protests seem to fall on deaf ears. We are all doomed people...
the price of oil is set globally , the reason they dont drill much here is environmental restrictions and the fact that oil is easier to drill out of the sand in the arab nations plus they have more of it ... when they run out we will drill for our own and let the rest of the world die or pay like 10 times more for it than we are paying them now
